The West Carling Association (WCA) and Georgian Bay Forever (GBF), generously sponsored by The Township of Carling, are organizing our second phragmites community cutting event, and we would love to have your participation.

About the event
For the third year in a row, GBF is partnering with the West Carling Association to host a community cut at the beautiful Franklin Island in Carling Township. Those interested in volunteering can either boat out to the location on Franklin Island, or if you don't have a boat, you can meet the team at the public dock in Snug Harbour around 9am. GBF will lead a brief tutorial on all things invasive Phragmites, followed up with a few hours of cutting.
What to bring:
Old sneakers, water shoes, waders, or boots (you’ll be wading through mucky water)
Water bottle & snacks
Work gloves or heavy gardening gloves
Sunscreen, hat, and protective clothing
